Our Industry

It’s 22.02. I’ve just got home from GeekUp Doncaster, where we spent 3 hours talking about how we could improve our local creative and digital culture.

I’ve just uploaded a few changes to this very website, and now I’m writing a blog post. I’ve just received The Manual, and I’m about to get in the bath and read it.

I’m not atypical of the web industry. There’s nothing weird about me. I’m not some kind of industry prodigy, relentlessly pursuing perfection. I’m the Regular Joe. In fact, everyone I follow on Twitter is the same.

I’m reading my Twitter now, and loads of people are talking about new techniques they’ve learned, and expressing their opinions on all sorts of latest stuff in our industry.

I love it. I’d like to think we’re the only industry in the world that’s like this. Are we?
