Eyes open, head up

95% of us now walk around (and sit around) with our eyes and minds fixated on something else. I don’t always believe this is a bad thing, but I do always believe it’s most of our realities.

Technology has given us always-on internet connections which has in turn given us the ability to stream pretty much anything we want whilst we’re doing other things. Podcasts, music, audiobooks, YouTube, whatever.

This means that we all spend no time just thinking in an empty room with no distractions. Just walking, without music or podcasts. Just sitting, without Netflix or video games or YouTube.

Thinking in an empty space with no distractions is powerful, it’s refreshing. We all need to open our eyes sometimes and lift our head up.
