Extreme Production: The Book

A book about making more stuff than anybody else you know — because for about thirteen years that’s mostly what I’ve done.

It came out of the daily challenges. A poster every day for a year. A photo every day for a year, with twenty-odd other people roped in. A record sleeve every day, which I cocked up on day 142. A podcast every day until I’d somehow learned to make three of them. Somewhere in that lot I worked out a method, gave it a slightly dramatic name, and wrote it down.

The whole argument fits in one line: to get more things done, do things more regularly. The other 159 pages are me labouring that point — consistency, tiny daily actions, narrowing things down until they actually get finished. I’m not superhuman. Same 24 hours as everyone else. I just kept turning up, and eventually it added up to a career.

Of everything I’ve written it’s the one I’m least objective about, so I’ll leave it there.
