Consumer was me and James Sheriff before Genius Division was a proper company — a creative partnership we started in 2008 while we still had proper jobs. He was briefly still working for the Arctic Monkeys; I was at a local design agency, The Design Mechanics.
We were wet behind the ears and, if I’m honest, a bit shit at it. But we made some genuinely cool work. Fun stuff like Nice Smile Sir, and the odd doomed idea like The Ark — a magazine the frontman of Reverend and the Makers reckoned was a good idea. (It wasn’t.)
That bunny rabbit was our logo. I designed it. It has absolutely nothing to do with the word “consumer”, or design, or anything at all really — and we used it anyway. I still think it’s brilliant.

In 2010 we made it official and renamed it Genius Division. The rest is all over the rest of this site.
