100 Days of Logos

A logo a day for 100 days in 2016, with Aaron Linley. Daft fictional brands and film references, and as the year's death toll climbed, more and more of them turned into tributes.

100 Days of Logos was exactly what it sounds like: a logo a day, every day, for 100 days. I did it in 2016 with Aaron Linley, who worked with us at Genius Division at the time.

Most of them were daft brands lifted from films and telly. Big Kahuna Burger, Bluth’s Original Frozen Banana, Travis Bickle Cabs, Red Apple Cigarettes. If you know, you know.

Then 2016 happened. You’ll remember 2016. It was the year everybody seemed to die. It started, for me, with Bowie on day one (“just for one day”), then Alan Rickman a few days after, and it didn’t let up. Prince. Dave Mirra. As the year wore on, more and more of the logos quietly turned into tributes.

It was really another a thing a day project, just with grim timing.

Here’s all 100.
